The Heroes and Their Favorite Superheroes

Lately, I've been thinking about which superheroes our heroes like, and I've come up with this:

Sylar loved Deadpool ever since he discovered the comics in the early 1990s, when he was in his teens.  Deadpool was brand new back then.  Eventually, though he was never really sure why, he had this fantasy where he would run off with Deadpool and they'd have morally grey adventures---after they ditched Cable, of course.  So when Sylar saw X-Men: Origins---Wolverine, he was naturally very angry about what they'd done to his wonderfully chatty mercenary.  When he found those screenwriters, he'd...Well, hopefully, the spin-off film would be better.  It had to be, or Ryan Reynolds would pay...

Claude loves Batman.  Always has, always will.  He's not conservative or anything, but he just likes Batman's style---the disappearing, the random dispensing of justice, and most of the bad guys getting what they deserve.  Claude has seen every Batman movie on the first day during the first showing---yes, even the dreaded Batman and Robin.  He took Noah to that one (as he had with Batman Returns and Batman Forever), and they made fun of the whole thing (and even got the gaggle of teenagers next to them to join in).  Claude thought that film was simply hysterical, but he prefers the newer films now.  Guess which one's his favorite.

Peter loves Spiderman, probably because they're both named Peter, and they're both lean and slightly wimpy but still attractive geeks.  Peter dressed up as Spiderman for Halloween for five years in a row when he was a little kid, until Angela put her foot down and made him pick something else.

Nathan was never that into superheroes, but he likes Cyclops from X-Men.  Cyclops is the one with the glasses, he's pretty sure...

Claire used to want to be Supergirl, until she actually developed superpowers.  Then she didn't know what Supergirl was so perky about.

Noah always liked both Superman and Batman.  One had powers and the other didn't, but they managed to work together when they had to, and he never really could decide whom he liked more.

Daphne liked Wonder Woman.  Sure, she was a bit too perfect, but apparently, she could run really fast and beat up Superman at least her accessories could.  Daphne wanted that---strength and speed.  And one day, she got the speed, so she never stopped running, the way Wonder Woman didn't stop in her first issue.

Love these!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who makes some association between Nathan and Cyclops. There's a new Marvel cartoon coming out this Fall and Adrian is doing a voice. I will absolutely die if he does voice Cyclops.

You do? I thought it was just a crazy and random association I made in the middle of night. I'm glad you liked it. :)

Deadpool and Sylar? *winces*

But Noah can definitely be Batman. He can do anything even though he has no powers. All the powered people know in their hearts that he can pwn them.

Claire as Supergirl, I can see that.

And I can see Nathan and Cyclops, with their natural leader instincts.

Oh, you know those two would have some wacky funtimes together...

I think Noah and Claude can both be Batman, even though Claude has a power. Claude's power is a cloaking device, so that he can hide when he wants to, like Batman does with his mad skillz, but otherwise, Claude's strength and everything else is normal.

Yes, cute little blonde saving the universe. :)

That's basically how I saw the connection, too, but I didn't know how to word it.

Well now the idea of Peter Petrelli/Peter Parker is in my head and won't get out. Not that I'm complaining. And in any case I can always distract myself with the wonderful image of Claude, Noah, and a handful of teenagers MSTing the more horrible Batman movies.

Peter Petrelli/Peter Parker as a pairing? I hadn't thought of it like that before. Though I did read Sylar/Peter Parker once...

You know Claude had a blast doing that, and Noah probably ended up enjoying himself, too.

Maybe they'd make a better bromance. Surely the two slight, socially awkward fellows could get along famously. Commiserate, anyway. Peter Parker/Sylar? Wooow.

Without a doubt.
